Tiny Nick’s Gambling Picks: 6/10 - Zone Coverage
Locks

MLB (0.5 Unit) San Diego Padres/Colorado Rockies Over 12 (-120; Odds via Caesars): 2:10 PM CT on SportsNetRM

Weather has a lot to do with this handicap, and I’m not just talking about Ryan Weathers who gets the start for San Diego today. The conditions at Coors Field are ideal for offenses today, and I think these teams take advantage. And with Ryan Weathers looking awful in his past 4 starts by posting a 7.79 ERA and 1.96 WHIP, the Rockies should be able to get their bats going.

But the Padres seem to have broken out of their slump with 19 runs the past 2 games, and are in their preferred split here against lefty Kyle Freeland. With the ball ready to jump in the great hitting conditions, this should be another slugfest.

MLB (0.75 Unit) Washington Nationals/Atlanta Braves Over 9.5 (-115; Odds via Fanduel): 3:10 PM CT on Bally Sports SE

It’s a wonderful confluence of factors that has these two teams facing off while both are sending a left-handed starter to the mound. While MacKenzie Gore for the Nationals and Jared Shuster for the Braves have mostly been strong this season, they’re up against offenses that simply tee off on lefties.

Atlanta is unquestionably the best team against left-handed pitching, but the Nationals aren’t far behind. They’re both top-5 in just about every metric, including first and second for the all-important weighted runs created. I’m always looking to back both teams against lefties, so having them together in one game is too good to pass up.
